Steve has 20 years of experience in the chemicals industry, holding various commercial and management roles in MNC’s such as Dow Chemical, HB Fuller, Rohm & Haas. Prior to joining NLCS, he was the Business Director for South-East Asia for HB Fuller. Steve graduated with a degree in Bachelors of Technology from the Science University of Malaysia in 1997. Steve is married to Adelene and they both serve as pre-marital counsellors and leaders of a young adults’ cell group in Covenant EFC.

Eddy joined the non-profit sector in 2020. Prior to that, he spent the bulk of his 20 years’ career in the private sector. He has worked in Keppel Shipyard, Singapore Management University, WR Grace and Ingersoll Rand. Before joining NLCS, he was the Head of HR, APAC for National Instruments. Eddy holds a Master degree in HR & Global Leadership and BA in Southeast Asian Studies. He is married with 2 school-going children.

Elaine graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, majoring Management and Marketing, from Curtin University. Having a passion for the children from disadvantaged backgrounds, she volunteered in children’s homes and family service centres. She took on a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and has since been in the early childhood centres in the community services for 15 years. She has been worshipping New Creation Church and is currently serving in the children ministry.

Edwin Wee

Edwin is passionate in his work with the youth-at-risk and has counselled youths under the Enhanced Step-Up Programme. He also has experience in the Reformative Training Centre group work, individual case management and family work, mentoring older youths who have committed crimes and focusing on getting them back on track. At the New Life Youth Hub, Edwin is involved in mentoring, facilitation of workshops, curriculum planning and small group facilitation. Edwin graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and holds a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences. Edwin is currently worshipping at Covenant EFC.

Janice Poon

Janice joined the Ministry of Social and Family Development as a caseworker in Singapore Boy’s Home after graduating with Social Work degree in 1997. She had rehabilitation and operations experience as Superintendent of Singapore Boys’ Home and Head of Learning Centre and programmes for Singapore Boy’s Complex. In 2012, she was a senior manager of programme branch and subsequently seconded to Social Service Institute to do sector training in children and youth risk assessment tools and audit of children and young person’s home for the casework care plan and intervention implementation. Janice is married to Julian and they have a 15-year-old son named Joshua. Their family worship in True Grace Presbyterian Church. Janice serves in the worship team, teaches Sunday school to Primary 4 to 6 and special needs youths, and supports her husband in the elderly ministry.

Joserine served in a Christian non-profit sector and was responsible for partners and corporate development prior to joining New Life. A holder of Masters in Distributed Systems from the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom, she also spent 16 years in consulting and presales roles. In 2014, she was a ministry intern in IDMC Institute in Covenant EFC. Joserine worships in Covenant EFC where she serves in the Prayer Intercessors ministry and also volunteers in the Families-in-Covenant ministry together with her husband Alex.

Zoe Lim

Head of Finance

Prior to joining New Life, Zoe was the Head of Finance for Big Heart Student Care. She also had past corporate experiences with MNCs such as Sony Computer, Walsin Technology and Ariba Inc. She holds a professional degree from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She’s married to Jeremy and they have three teens named Chloe, Joshua and Hannah. They worship at Deeper Life Christian Centre and serve through hosting weekly cell groups for youth groups and young families’ groups.

Trevor Wong

Head of Operations

Trevor came from the Retail and Procurement sector and worked as the Assistant Vice President for Operations and Brand Management at Swee Lee Holdings prior to joining New Life. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a Major in Music and Education, he served as a Music Director with Yamaha’s Headquarters in Japan, before returning home to Singapore as a Product Manager for Combo Instruments with Yamaha Singapore. Trevor is married with two children and they worship at Adam Road Presbyterian Church. He serves as a photographer in his church and as a pianist in the children’s ministry.

Sarah Cheong

Sarah has enjoyed a myriad of experiences working with youth, children, families and ex-offenders in varied portfolios since her graduation almost 25 years ago. Part of that time was spent in Malaysia working to augment the skills and uplift the team of dedicated workers in a welfare organization. She was accorded Master in Social Science (Social Work) from the National University of Singapore in 2011 and counts working with young people a passion. Together with her family, she worships at Covenant Evangelical Free Church, is involved in the small groups’ ministry and serving in the women’s ministry.

Joo Leng was previously working part-time at National Council of Social Service before entering New Life. She holds a degree in Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) from the Swinburne University of Technology and a member of the Singapore Association of Counselling. Joo Leng worships at Church of the Good Shepherd and serves as a pianist. She is married with two children.

Marianne graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Psychology and Community Services in 2011 and is currently pursuing a degree in English & English Literature at Singapore University of Social Sciences. With a fierce passion for children, she is also involved in the children’s ministry at the church of St. Mary of the Angels where she dedicates her time sharing God’s word with children from 7-10 years old. She is the youngest of a family of four.

Nathania has joined the field of early childhood in 2013 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood from Wheelock College. She also holds a degree in Master of Education in Early Childhood from National Institute of Education (NIE) and worked in two VWO childcare centres before joining New Life. She attends Living Praise Presbyterian Church with her parents and is currently serving in the Mandarin choir. She is also involved in short-term mission trips conducting children outreach programmes and Sunday School teacher-training programmes.

Kristen joined the Early Childhood sector in 2005 and has served as a principal for 11 years. Prior to joining New Life, she was working with two other childcare anchor operators in various roles from teaching to training positions besides principalship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and a Masters in Education from National Institute of Education in 2016. A regular worshipper with Covenant EFC, she enjoys serving in the Intercessory Ministry.

Ariel has been in the Early Childhood Education field since 2006 where her experience includes teaching in both local and international settings as a senior teacher and curriculum coordinator. She graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College (Boston). She currently worships at Tabernacle of Joy Church and serves in the church’s Ambassadors ministry on Sundays where she welcomes and connects with the visitors.

Min is a passionate and energetic speaker who can capture the attention and hearts of the youth. She has a genuine interest in seeing positive impact in the lives of the youth. Min Min’s experience in youth work dates to 2007 when she actively volunteered in organising camps and conducting programmes for youths. Min Min graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences. She also holds a Certificate in Youth Work from the Social Service Institute and is also a certified facilitator in DISC. Min Min is currently worshipping at City Harvest Church.

Keith’s charisma allows him to connect with youths from many different walks of life. His foray into youth work began when he started volunteering with a youth organisation back in 2003. After serving his National Service in 2011, Keith began his full-time career as a trainer for youth programmes and has been doing so ever since. He currently leads a team of youth workers that runs New Life’s youth hub at Junction 10. Keith graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Multimedia and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication with Business from the Singapore University of Social Sciences. He holds a Certificate in Youth Work from the Social Service Institute and is also a certified DISC facilitator. Keith is currently worshipping at City Harvest Church.

Joyce has a strong passion for the youth and strongly believes in the phrase, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” With seven years of experience in the outdoor training industry locally and overseas, Joyce has inspired many and is able to bring hope to students who require an extra boost of motivation. She can engage youths from all walks of life using her experiences to journey via mentoring sessions. Joyce graduated from the Swinburne University of Technology with a Masters in Social Science (Professional Counselling) and is currently applying to be a licensed counsellor. Joyce is currently worshipping at Covenant EFC.
